A Case Story, In the Director's Words
Arm Fat-Dissolving After 3 Sessions β A Real Patient Follow-Up
Elena came back to Gangnam HERA to finish her upper-arm plan: ULFIT plus three rounds of Sok-Sok injections. Our medical team explains what follow-up visits look like, how we judge progress, and why exercise and injections are not either-or.

"Okay, follow up time!" That is how Elena (@elli_in_korea) opened her second video from Gangnam HERA, about two months after her first one. She had come to us as our guest to work on what she called her problem zone β her upper arms β with a combination of ULFIT focused ultrasound and three rounds of Sok-Sok Body injection. Her first video covered day one. This follow-up covers the part most people never see online: what the second and third visits look like, how we decide whether a course is working, and what happens once it is finished. Here is our medical team's view of that part of her journey.
Why does an arm fat-dissolving plan need more than one session?
Because the body clears treated fat gradually, and each session builds on the last. Sok-Sok injections deliver a lipolytic solution into a localized fat pocket, where it breaks down fat cells; the body then metabolizes and removes that fat over the following weeks. Slimming usually becomes visible over three to six weeks, and two to four sessions are commonly recommended depending on the area and the amount of fat. Splitting the work across sessions keeps each visit short and comfortable and lets us check the response before deciding on the next round. In Elena's words, the plan was "a combo of ULFIT ultrasound plus three rounds of their Soksok fat dissolving injections."
What does a follow-up visit actually look like?
A follow-up is shorter and calmer than the first visit, because the big decisions have already been made. We look at the arm again and compare it with the earlier photos, confirm the treatment zone, apply numbing cream and repeat the injections. In Elena's follow-up video you can see her lying on her side while our team places several very fine needles along the back of her arm, connected by thin tubing so the solution spreads evenly across the marked area. The injection itself takes around 10 to 15 minutes, and most people go straight back to their day. Elena summed up the process this way: "Throughout the process the clinic staff were super friendly and each visit went smoothly." That consistency matters on a multi-session plan β if the first visit is uncomfortable or rushed, people stop coming back before the course is complete.
Couldn't exercise have done the same thing?
Exercise and fat-dissolving injections do different jobs, and Elena's case shows both. A commenter on her first video asked whether weight training could have fixed her arms. Elena answered that question in her follow-up: despite real effort, she "wasn't losing fat in this area." Training builds the muscle of the upper arm, but a stubborn fat layer sitting on top of that muscle often does not shrink in one specific zone just because you train it. Sok-Sok injections are designed for exactly that kind of diet-resistant pocket. After her three rounds she wrote that "the muscle I've been building up is finally visible." We think that is the right way to see it: the injections did not replace her training, they reduced the layer that was hiding it. If you are active and one area simply will not change, that is usually the profile that does well.
How do we judge progress after three rounds?
We judge it with photos taken from the same angles, compared over time β not with how the arm looks the day after a session, when mild swelling can still be present. Elena's own comparison uses that same approach: side views and raised-arm views, before and after. After all three rounds she wrote, "my arms are much leaner," and added, "Seeing progress in an area that was stubborn for years just hits different." We are glad she is happy, and we want to be just as clear about expectations. Results vary from person to person. They appear gradually rather than overnight, and they last longest when weight stays stable, because the cleared fat cells do not return on their own. Below are real HERA patients who had the same treatment on the upper arm β Sok-Sok arm injection combined with ULFIT.
What happens after the course is finished?
Once the planned sessions are done, the main job is protecting the result. Between and after sessions we ask patients to expect some temporary swelling, tenderness or small bruises, to use cold compresses if needed, stay well hydrated, keep moving gently and avoid intense heat or alcohol for a couple of days. After the course, steady weight and the training you already do are what keep the arm looking the way it does now. What we did not do is just as important: we did not add extra rounds simply because they were available, and we did not suggest surgery for a localized area that was already responding. If a patient is not seeing the change we expected by the end of a course, we say so and talk through other options rather than repeating the same treatment indefinitely.
Who is a good candidate for a multi-session arm plan?
The patients who tend to respond well look a lot like Elena: they are active, their overall weight is steady, and one localized area has not changed despite real effort. They also have the patience for a staged plan, with sessions spaced a few weeks apart and results judged at the end rather than after the first visit. If your concern is a large amount of fat spread across a wide area, or you are hoping for a weight-loss result, we will tell you honestly that a different approach may suit you better. Every plan starts with an in-person consultation. International patients are treated directly by our board-certified doctors, with an English interpreter on-site, and pay the same price as our Korean patients.

Who this treatment is genuinely for
Signs it may be time to consider it
- You have finished one session and are wondering whether the next is worth it
- Your arms look a little different but not yet the way you hoped
- You are building muscle but it does not show on the back of your arm
- You want to know what a realistic course length looks like
- You prefer short visits that fit around work or travel
It's a good fit if
- You train regularly but the back of your upper arms has not changed
- Your overall weight is steady and the concern is one localized area
- You can commit to a staged plan with sessions spaced a few weeks apart
- You want gradual, natural-looking change rather than surgery
Not the right first step if: A multi-session fat-dissolving plan is not a weight-loss treatment and is not meant for a large amount of fat across a wide area. Every plan begins with an in-person consultation to review your medical history and goals.
