Hello, I'm Dr. Lee Jong Hoon, the lifting specialist at Gangnam HERA β co-author of LIFTINGOLOGY and a foundation member of the Korean Academy of Facelift & Contouring. I want to walk you through Tamara's (@tamaamata) visit, because she came in exactly where many of you are now: she had never tried Titanium Lifting, she had heard the name, and she wanted to know what actually happens in the treatment room. Her caption says it plainly β "If you have never tried Titanium Lifting before, let this be your sign to book the first appointment." So rather than describe the device in the abstract, I'll go through her session the way a first-timer experiences it, in order, and explain what we were thinking at each step.
What happens before the laser is switched on?
A first Titanium session starts with a one-to-one consultation, not with the device. Tamara sat down with our doctor and talked through the treatment and the specific areas she wanted to focus on, and those areas were drawn onto a facial check-list chart so the plan existed on paper before anything else happened. For a first-timer this step matters more than people expect. We are looking at where the skin is losing firmness, how thick and how sensitive it is, and whether the concern is really skin laxity β which an energy device can address β or volume loss or deeper sagging that a laser alone will not fix. If the honest answer had been "this needs a different treatment," that is what we would have told her. In Tamara's case the goal β a firmer, more defined lower face and jawline without downtime β sat squarely within what Soprano Titanium is designed to do.
Does Titanium Lifting hurt the first time?
For most first-timers it feels like warmth rather than pain, and Tamara rated hers at around 3 out of 10. Before treatment she washed her face, and our staff applied numbing cream for a few minutes. The device itself helps too: Soprano Titanium has continuous contact cooling on the handpiece, so the skin surface stays protected while heat builds underneath. In her video she describes a warm sensation that was "totally manageable." What I want first-timers to understand is that comfort is not left to chance. Throughout the session our doctor kept checking in with her and adjusting the settings β that is standard practice for us. Energy is set per patient and per area, and a first session is where we learn how your skin responds, so we would rather calibrate carefully than push towards a number.
What is the device actually doing during the session?
Titanium Lifting uses light, not radiofrequency or ultrasound. The handpiece fires three laser wavelengths β 1064nm, 810nm and 755nm β at the same time, so heat is delivered at more than one depth. There are two ways of using it. Stack mode stamps concentrated heat around the 8mm layer for a more intensive lift; SHR mode glides across the skin and warms the 3β5mm layer evenly, which improves tone and elasticity and feels gentler. Plans usually combine the two, and the balance between them is decided at consultation. In Tamara's video you can see the work concentrated along the jawline, under the chin and over the lower cheeks β the areas she had asked about. The treatment itself typically takes within 30 minutes, which is one reason first-timers on a short trip to Seoul often start here.
When will you see results after a first session?
You may notice firming right away, and the result usually keeps developing over the following weeks as collagen rebuilds. That is the pattern Tamara described: she could see a difference as soon as we finished, the lifting effect became more noticeable over the following weeks, and she filmed herself again two weeks after the treatment. I always tell first-timers to judge the result after a few weeks, not in the mirror on the way out β the immediate tightening is real, but the collagen response is the part that lasts. There is virtually no downtime; mild warmth or slight flushing can appear and fades quickly, so most people go straight back to their day. Results typically last around 6β12 months depending on skin condition, and results vary from person to person.
What did we not do on a first visit, and why?
We did not add a second device or an injectable. When someone is new to energy-based lifting, I prefer to see how their skin responds to one treatment before layering anything on top; it keeps the result readable and tells us what to adjust next time. If a patient later wants a deeper effect at the SMAS layer, we can discuss pairing Titanium with 10Thera ultrasound β the combination we call Dual-Line Tenti. Below are real HERA patients whose lifting plan included Soprano Titanium β in their case paired with 10Thera as Dual-Line Tenti, so the photos show the combined treatment rather than Titanium alone. A single session gives a visible effect, but a short series is often recommended for stronger, longer-lasting elasticity. That is a conversation for after we have seen your first result, not a package to sign up for on day one.
Is a first Titanium session right for you?
It suits you if you want firmer skin and a cleaner jawline, you are sensitive to pain, and you cannot afford downtime. It is not the right first step if your main concern is volume loss or heavy sagging, or if you have an active skin problem in the treatment area β which is why every plan begins with an in-person consultation. Tamara mentioned that our staff welcomed her right away and guided her through every step; that is how we want every first visit to feel. At Gangnam HERA, international patients receive a written quote after consultation and pay the same price as our Korean patients β no foreigner markup.

Who this treatment is genuinely for
Signs it may be time to consider it
- Your jawline looks softer than it used to, but you don't want injections or surgery
- You've been curious about laser lifting but worried about pain
- Your skin looks less firm and slightly duller at the same time
- You need to be back at work or sightseeing the same day
- You'd like to try one well-calibrated treatment before committing to a series
It's a good fit if
- You have never had Titanium Lifting and want to know exactly what the session involves
- You want a firmer, more defined jawline and lower face without surgery
- You are sensitive to pain and prefer a lift that feels like warmth
- You are visiting Seoul briefly and cannot take downtime
Not the right first step if: It isn't the right first step if your main concern is significant volume loss or heavy sagging, or if you have an active skin infection or inflammation in the treatment area β we always begin with an in-person consultation.

βIf several of these sound like you, a single, carefully set Titanium session is a sensible place to start. Send us a photo and tell us which area bothers you most β I'll tell you honestly whether Titanium is the right first step or whether something else would serve you better.β
