Upper Arm Fat: ULFIT + Sok-Sok Injection β A Real Patient Review
Elena came to Gangnam HERA for a "lifelong complex" β the back of her upper arms. Our medical team explains why we paired ULFIT focused ultrasound with Sok-Sok fat-dissolving injections, how each step felt, and when to judge results.

At Gangnam HERA, the upper arm is one of the body areas we are asked about most, and Elena (@elli_in_korea) put it more honestly than most people do: she came in to work on what she called "a lifelong complex" β the soft fullness on the back of her upper arms. Elena visited us as our guest and filmed her whole first day, from the consultation room to the treatment chair. This is our medical team's walk-through of that day: what we looked at, why we paired two treatments instead of one, what each step actually involves, and what we told her to expect in the weeks after.
What did we see in Elena's consultation?
We saw a localized fat concern, not a weight concern. Elena was not asking to lose weight overall; she wanted the back of her upper arms to look leaner, and she wanted to know whether anything could change an area that had bothered her for years. In consultation we sketched the plan on our body chart, went through her goals and talked about timing. In her own subtitles: "During the consultation, we set my goals and decided on a combo of ULFIT ultrasound plus three rounds of their Soksok fat-dissolving injections." She also mentioned that "the staff and doctor answered all my questions" and that we gave her a snack before treatment so she wouldn't feel dizzy β a small thing, but people who arrive without eating tend to feel lightheaded in the chair, and we would rather prevent that than manage it.
Why combine ULFIT with Sok-Sok injections instead of choosing one?
Because the two treatments work on the area in different ways. Sok-Sok Body injection is our lipolytic injection for stubborn, localized body fat: a solution is injected into the fat pocket, where it breaks down fat cells so the body clears them gradually. It is designed for smaller, diet-resistant zones, and the upper arm is one of the body areas it covers. ULFIT is a high-intensity focused ultrasound device made by Classys. Our consultation chart describes it as a non-invasive treatment that delivers focused ultrasound energy at set depths beneath the skin to target fat and improve body firmness, with a quick return to daily life. On the arm, many patients worry not only about the fat itself but about how the skin will look as the area slims, so pairing an energy-based step with the injections made sense for Elena's goals. One honest note: ULFIT does not yet have its own page on our English site, so if you are curious about it, ask us directly during consultation and we will explain whether it fits your case.
What happened during the ULFIT step?
The treatment zone was marked on the back of each arm, gel was applied, and the doctor moved the ultrasound handpiece across the marked area section by section while Elena sat with her arm raised. Energy devices are not a "set it and forget it" treatment β we adjust as we go based on what the patient feels. Elena described it this way: "When I felt a slight stinging sensation, the doctor immediately reduced the intensity and kept checking in with me to minimize discomfort." That is exactly how we want it to work. We would rather lower the setting and keep the patient comfortable than push through and leave someone dreading the next session.
How were the Sok-Sok injections given, and did they hurt?
The injections came next, and the short answer is that they were quicker and gentler than Elena expected. A numbing cream is applied first, and in her video you can see several very fine needles placed along the back of the arm, connected by thin tubing, so the solution is distributed evenly across the marked zone rather than in one spot. The session itself is short β around 10 to 15 minutes. Elena admitted she is "quite scared of needles, but everyone was so reassuring that it was over in a flash," and afterwards she added, "And it didn't even hurt!" Not everyone will describe it that way, but most patients feel only mild pressure or a slight sting. Afterwards you can usually go about your day; mild swelling, tenderness or small bruises at the injection sites are normal and typically settle within a few days.
When can you actually judge the result?
Not on the day, and not after a single session. Slimming from Sok-Sok injections appears gradually as the body clears the treated fat, usually over three to six weeks, and two to four sessions are commonly recommended depending on the area β which is why Elena's plan included three rounds. Two weeks after her first visit she wrote, "Results build over time, but even just 2 weeks after my visit, my arms are visibly leaner." We are glad she noticed an early change, but we judge the outcome after the full plan, using photos taken from the same angles. Results vary from person to person. They also last longest when weight stays stable. Below are real HERA patients who had the same treatment combination on the upper arm β Sok-Sok arm injection with ULFIT.
What did we not do β and who is this not for?
We did not recommend liposuction. For a smaller, localized pocket like Elena's, there was no need for incisions or general anesthesia, and a non-surgical approach let her walk out and carry on with her day. We also did not promise a weight-loss result; this is a contouring treatment for diet-resistant zones, not a substitute for overall weight management. A commenter on Elena's video asked whether exercise could have fixed this. Exercise matters β it builds the muscle underneath and supports your overall shape β but a stubborn fat layer in one zone often does not respond to training alone, and that is precisely the situation Sok-Sok injections are designed for. If your main concern is a large amount of fat across a wide area, we will tell you plainly that a different approach may suit you better. Every plan starts with an in-person consultation, every international patient is treated directly by our board-certified doctors with an English interpreter on-site, and you pay the same price as our Korean patients.

Who this treatment is genuinely for
Signs it may be time to consider it
- You avoid sleeveless tops because of the back of your arms
- Your arms stay soft at the back even though you train regularly
- Diet has changed the rest of your body but not this one area
- The fullness sits mainly between the elbow and the underarm
- You want a gradual, natural change rather than an overnight one
It's a good fit if
- You have a soft, stubborn pocket of fat on the back of your upper arms that has not changed with diet or training
- You want a leaner arm contour without incisions or general anesthesia
- You are also thinking about how the skin will look as the area slims
- You can commit to a short course of sessions spaced a few weeks apart
Not the right first step if: This is not a weight-loss treatment or a substitute for liposuction when there is a large amount of fat across a wide area. Your medical history and goals are reviewed in an in-person consultation before any treatment.

βIf two or three of these sound familiar, the arm is often a good candidate for a short, staged plan rather than surgery. Send us a photo of your arm from the side and the back, and we will tell you honestly what we would and would not recommend.β
