I'm Dr. Jong Hoon Lee, a physician at Gangnam HERA in Seoul. International patients often ask me to recommend somewhere, and the message usually reads: "Which clinic in Korea should I go to for titanium lifting β how do I know I'm choosing a good one?" I will not rank other clinics, and I do not think a list of names would help you. What helps is knowing what a good titanium lifting clinic does: a doctor decides whether titanium suits your skin, you know exactly which device and settings you are getting, you see a written price before treatment, and you are told plainly when another treatment would do more. Below are those criteria, and how HERA meets them β facts only.
What should a good titanium lifting clinic do before it treats you?
A doctor should assess your skin and decide whether titanium is the right tool at all. Titanium lifting is a laser lift that suits a particular kind of face: people who want better tone and elasticity together, who are sensitive to pain, or who want a lift with essentially no downtime. It is not the right answer for every face that is starting to sag.
At HERA the first step is a consultation and skin analysis with a doctor, who looks at your tone, elasticity and comfort level and then chooses the treatment mode. If that assessment says titanium will not do enough, the right clinic tells you so before you are in the chair.
Can the clinic tell you exactly which device and settings you are getting?
It should β "titanium lifting" describes a treatment, so ask for the device and the modes by name. At HERA the device is Soprano Titanium. It fires three wavelengths together β 1064nm, 810nm and 755nm β so heat reaches several depths at once.
Two modes, two jobs
- Stack Mode stamps concentrated heat around 8mm deep for an intensive lift.
- SHR Mode glides in motion at 3β5mm for even, comfortable warming that improves tone and elasticity.
The two are combined to suit your goals, and continuous contact cooling protects the surface, which is why most patients feel only mild warmth. A clinic that can explain which mode it plans for which area, and why, is a clinic that is planning rather than running a fixed routine. Will the clinic tell you when titanium is not enough?
A good clinic will, and it helps if the clinic has other options so it has no reason to force one. Titanium improves elasticity and tone, and its effect typically lasts 6 to 12 months. It does not reposition heavy tissue. For deeper sagging, ultrasound that reaches the SMAS layer or threads that lift tissue mechanically do jobs a laser cannot.

Is the price clear before you lie down?
It should be in writing, itemised, and agreed before treatment starts. A clear price tells you which areas are included, which mode or programme is planned, and whether a series is proposed. It should not change on the day without your agreement.
At HERA every patient receives an itemised written estimate after the consultation and before anything begins, and international and local patients pay exactly the same. How does the clinic look after patients coming from abroad?
It should make the language, the timing and the follow-up easy, not just the booking. A lift explained through a translation app is a lift you do not fully understand.
- Interpretation: at HERA an English interpreter joins every visit, from consultation to aftercare.
- Registration: HERA is registered as a Foreign Patient Attraction Medical Institution with Korea's Ministry of Health and Welfare.
- Location: the clinic is about three minutes from Gangnam Station.
- Timing: Soprano Titanium takes within 30 minutes and has virtually no downtime β mild warmth or slight flushing fades quickly β so it fits a short stay.
- Honesty about sessions: a single session gives a visible effect, but a short series is often recommended for stronger, longer-lasting elasticity. A good clinic says this upfront and helps you time it around future trips.
What should you ask any clinic before booking?
Five questions separate a planned treatment from a sold one. Ask them anywhere, including here.
- Who assesses my skin and decides the settings β a doctor?
- Which device will be used, and which mode for which area?
- Is titanium actually the right treatment for my degree of sagging, or would something else do more?
- How many sessions do you recommend, and why?
- Can I have an itemised written estimate before treatment?
If the answers are vague, the plan probably is too. Results vary from person to person, and no clinic can honestly promise the same result for everyone; what it can promise is a clear plan.
What do patients ask me next?
"Titanium or Thermage?"
They work differently β titanium is a laser, Thermage is radiofrequency β and at HERA they are often combined as Preheat Thermage. Our Thermage FLX guide covers the radiofrequency side.
"Does it hurt?"
It is one of the gentler lifts. Continuous contact cooling keeps the surface comfortable, and topical numbing can be applied, though many patients do not need it.
"When will I see a change?"
Firming and brighter tone can be noticed shortly after the session and improve over the following weeks.
What are the honest limits?
No clinic can make titanium lifting do the work of a deeper lift. Titanium improves elasticity and tone in mild laxity; it does not lift heavy jowls, remove fat or stop ageing, and its effect typically lasts 6 to 12 months. Choosing a clinic well protects you from the wrong plan, not from the limits of the treatment. What I can offer is a doctor's honest view of whether titanium suits your skin, before you spend anything.
