Hand Fillers Cost in Korea: Both Hands, One Plan, No Guesswork

I'm Dr. Kim Jong Seon, the filler specialist at Gangnam HERA in Seoul, a board member of the International Petit Medical Society and of the Korean Society of Aesthetic Surgery (KSAS). Hand filler is one of the quieter requests I receive β often added at the end of a message about the face, almost as an afterthought: "And how much would hand fillers cost? My hands look older than the rest of me." My answer first: hand filler is planned for both hands together, and the estimate follows how much volume the backs of your hands have lost, how visible the veins and tendons are, and which hyaluronic-acid filler you choose. It does not treat brown spots, and I would rather tell you that before you pay for something it cannot do. You receive an itemised written estimate after consultation, and international and local patients pay exactly the same.
Why does hand filler have no fixed price?
Because hands lose volume to very different degrees, and the amount needed to cushion the veins and tendons evenly changes with that. With age and sun exposure the backs of the hands lose fat and volume, the skin becomes thinner and crepey, and veins and tendons show more than they used to. In some people that change is slight; in others the tendons stand out sharply and the hands look much older than the face.
A fixed online price would have to assume one of those hands. The honest version is an estimate based on what I see when I examine yours. Our guide to choosing a Korean filler for hands covers what the treatment is; this guide covers what moves its cost.

Why is hand filler always planned for both hands?
Because people look at their hands side by side, and one treated hand next to an untreated one shows the difference immediately. I plan both hands in one session, and the estimate reflects that. It also lets me match the two: the dominant hand is often slightly different from the other, and the aim is two hands that look like a pair rather than identical amounts placed in each.
This is one of the ways hand filler differs from a single facial area. When you compare quotes, check whether a figure you have seen means one hand or both β it is a common source of confusion, and it is why a written estimate that lists each step is more useful than a headline number.
How much filler do hands need β and who decides?
The doctor who examines you decides, based on volume loss, skin quality and how prominent your veins and tendons are β enough to cushion them, not so much that the hand looks puffy. At consultation I look at three things:
- Volume loss: how thin the back of the hand has become.
- Tendons: how deep the grooves between them are, because volume placed there evens the surface.
- Veins: how raised they look, because added cushioning over those areas makes them appear softer.
The goal is an even surface. Filler is placed in the grooves between the tendons and over the areas where veins are raised, then spread so the back of the hand looks smooth rather than bumpy. Puffy hands almost always mean too much product, and I would rather place a measured amount and let you come back than overfill on the first visit. A hand session takes about 20 to 30 minutes, with topical numbing cream.
Which filler, and how does it change the estimate?
The product is its own line, and at HERA the fillers used for the hands are high-purity hyaluronic acid with KFDA and FDA approval, in domestic and imported options. Both are placed the same way and both can be dissolved if an adjustment is ever needed β which matters in an area as visible as the hands. Hyaluronic acid also supports a collagen response in the skin, which is why hands often look a little smoother in texture as well as fuller.
The practical difference between domestic and imported is how long the result tends to last: around 6 to 12 months for domestic products and 12 to 18 months for imported ones, depending on the product and your metabolism. Hands are used all day, every day, so I think about the product in terms of a year rather than a visit. If you come to Seoul once a year, a product that tends to last longer may fit your calendar; if you visit often, a domestic product maintained more regularly can make sense. Our Korean filler vs Juvederm comparison covers the product question in more depth.
What will filler not fix, so you do not pay for it?
Brown spots, uneven colour, very loose skin and vein problems are not volume problems, and filler should not be on the estimate for them.
- Sun spots and uneven colour: those are pigment, and they need a pigment treatment rather than filler. Our guide to hyperpigmentation treatment in Korea covers that side.
- Very loose skin: filler restores volume and can improve skin quality a little, but it will not tighten very lax skin on its own.
- A painful, swollen or suddenly changed vein: that is a medical question to have checked, not a cosmetic one.
Telling you this up front is part of the estimate. A plan that includes only what filler can change is cheaper and more honest than one that promises everything.
Can I combine hands with my face in one visit?
Yes β several facial and body areas can be balanced in one visit, and each is listed separately so you decide what to include. Many patients find it convenient on a short trip, and there is a logic to it: a well-treated face next to hands that look older can make the contrast more noticeable. The neck filler cost guide covers another area that often shows age before the face does, and our Korean filler price guide explains how multi-area plans are estimated.
One practical point for travel planning: after hand filler you can return to normal daily activity straight away, but avoid strenuous hand use for a day or two. Mild swelling, redness or bruising may appear and usually settles within two to three days. If you have a trip that involves carrying heavy luggage or a hands-on activity right after, book the treatment a little earlier in your stay.
What else do patients ask about hand filler cost?
They usually ask whether the veins will disappear, whether they will need to come back, and where to see real results.
"Will my veins disappear?"
No, and they should not. Filler cushions the back of the hand so veins and tendons look softer and less pronounced; they remain there, just less prominent.
"Will I need to come back?"
Hand filler is temporary, so it is maintained rather than done once. How often depends mostly on the product you choose. If one area looks slightly uneven once the swelling has settled, a review lets me make a small adjustment.
"Where can I see real hand results?"
Our before-and-after gallery includes hand filler cases from HERA patients β real photographs, not illustrations.
What can hand filler not do, whatever you spend?
Hand filler restores volume to the backs of the hands; it does not remove sun spots, tighten very loose skin or treat vein disease. It wears off over months, and more product does not make younger-looking hands β it makes puffy ones. Results vary from person to person. What I can offer is a safety-approved hyaluronic-acid filler, an honest choice between domestic and imported based on how you live and travel, both hands planned as a pair, and an estimate that lists every step. The full clinical detail is on our hand filler page, and the first-timer's guide to fillers in Korea explains how a visit runs.
Book a consultation
If you would like a hand plan and a written estimate, send a photograph of the backs of both hands in daylight, fingers together and relaxed. We will arrange a consultation in Gangnam, or a photo consultation first if you are still abroad. An English interpreter joins every visit, and you receive an itemised written estimate before anything begins β international and local patients pay exactly the same.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Q1How much do hand fillers cost in Korea?
It depends on your hands, so HERA gives an itemised written estimate after consultation rather than one online price. The cost changes with how much volume the backs of the hands have lost, how visible the veins and tendons are, and domestic or imported product, with both hands planned together.Q2Is hand filler priced per hand or for both hands?
HERA plans and estimates both hands together, because they are seen side by side and should look like a pair. When comparing quotes elsewhere, check whether a figure means one hand or both.Q3What filler does HERA use for hands?
High-purity hyaluronic-acid filler with KFDA and FDA approval, in domestic and imported options. Both can be dissolved if an adjustment is ever needed.Q4Does hand filler remove brown spots?
No. Brown spots and uneven colour are pigment, not volume, and need a pigment treatment instead; filler restores volume and softens the look of veins and tendons.Q5How long does hand filler last?
At HERA, domestic fillers typically last around 6β12 months and imported fillers 12β18 months, depending on the product and individual metabolism.
