Korean Filler Price: What Changes the Cost and How to Get a Real Quote

On this page
I'm Dr. Jong Seon Kim, a plastic surgeon at Gangnam HERA in Seoul and a board member of the International Petit Medical Society, and most of my clinical day is spent on fillers and injectables. The first message I receive from abroad is very often a single line: "How much is filler in Korea?" I am going to be honest about why I will not write a number here. A filler price before anyone has looked at your face is a guess, and guesses turn into one of two things: a low headline figure that grows in the chair, or a quote for more product than you need. What I can tell you precisely is what changes the price, and how you get an itemised figure in writing before anything is injected.
What changes the price of filler in Korea?
Four things set the cost: the area, the amount of filler, the product (domestic or imported) and the number of sessions. Almost every difference between two quotes comes back to one of these.
- Area. The under-eyes, lips and nose need fine, careful work in small amounts. The jawline, cheeks or a whole-face plan need more product spread over a wider area.
- Amount. This is the biggest variable, and it depends on your face, not on a menu. Two people asking for "cheek filler" can need very different amounts.
- Product. Domestic (Korean-made) and imported hyaluronic-acid fillers are priced differently, and they last for different lengths of time.
- Sessions. Some plans are done in one visit; others work better as a conservative first session and a review.
Notice what is not on the list: your nationality. At HERA international and local patients pay exactly the same.

Why does domestic or imported filler change the price?
Imported filler usually costs more, and it usually lasts longer — so the fair comparison is cost over time, not cost on the day. At HERA, domestic fillers generally last around 6 to 12 months and imported fillers around 12 to 18 months, varying with the area and your metabolism. Results vary from person to person.
For a first filler, or an area you are not sure about, a domestic product is a sensible, lower-commitment way to try a change. For an area you already know you like, an imported product often means fewer top-ups across a year, which matters if you only travel to Seoul occasionally. I explain the difference in more detail in Korean filler vs Juvederm, and for lips specifically in Korean lip filler vs Juvederm.
Why are filler prices online so hard to compare?
Because most advertised prices leave out at least one of the four things above. A figure without an amount, a product name or an area tells you very little. When you compare quotes, check that each one answers the same questions.
- How much product is included, and is that enough for the change you want?
- Which product — domestic or imported, and what is it called?
- Who injects — a physician, and the same one who assessed you?
- What happens afterwards — is a review part of the plan if one side needs a small adjustment?
If a quote cannot answer these, it is not yet a price. It is an advertisement.

How does HERA give you a price?
After a doctor has assessed your face, you receive an itemised written estimate — area by area, with the product named — before anything begins. Nothing is added in the chair without your agreement.
If you are still abroad, you can start with a photo consultation: a front photograph, a side profile and a short note on what bothers you. That lets me say what I would suggest and why, so the plan is agreed before you book a flight. In Gangnam, the visit follows the same sequence as the treatment itself: consultation and facial analysis, design and marking, anaesthesia with topical ointment or local anaesthesia, injection, then shaping and a symmetry check with you. A typical general facial filler session takes around 10 to 15 minutes of treatment time. An English interpreter joins every visit, so nothing on the estimate is left unexplained.
Is cheap filler in Korea a risk?
A lower price is not a risk in itself; an unclear product, an unnamed injector or an unstated amount is. Korea has many clinics and a lot of competition, so prices can be fair without any shortcut being taken. What you should never trade for a lower number is a genuine, approved hyaluronic-acid product placed by a physician at the right depth.
Hyaluronic-acid filler can be dissolved if an adjustment is ever needed, which is part of why I use it. Correction still costs you time and money, though, and most of the problems I am asked to fix came from too much product or poor placement rather than from the brand. Our guides to bad cheek fillers and under-eye filler migration explain how those problems happen.
What patients ask me next
"Can you give me a rough range over WhatsApp?"
If you send photographs, I can tell you which areas I would treat, whether I would suggest a domestic or imported product and whether it is a one-visit plan. That is what actually decides the figure, and you will have the itemised version in writing before you commit to anything.
"Is it cheaper to do several areas in one visit?"
It saves you trips and lets the face be designed as a whole. Each area still appears as its own line on the estimate, so you can remove any of them and see the total change. For area-specific detail, see under-eye filler price in Korea and nose filler price in Korea.
"How do I know the result will be worth it?"
Look at real outcomes rather than illustrations. Our Korean filler before-and-after guide explains how to read results honestly, and the before-and-after gallery shows HERA cases. If your concern is fine neck creases, the neck filler guide explains what that treatment can realistically do.

The honest limits
Filler is not a one-off purchase. It is not permanent, so the real cost includes maintenance, and a plan that looks inexpensive once may not be once you count the top-ups. Nor can the right price make filler do something it cannot: it adds volume and smooths hollows and creases, but it does not lift heavy sagging or remove fat. When filler is the wrong tool for what you want, I will say so before you spend anything. If you are new to all of this, the first-timer's guide to fillers in Korea explains how a visit runs, and the full clinical detail is on our facial filler page.
Book a consultation
If you would like a real figure rather than a guess, send me a front and side photograph and tell me which areas you have in mind. We will arrange a consultation in Gangnam, or a photo consultation first if you are still abroad. An English interpreter joins every visit, and you receive an itemised written estimate before anything begins — international and local patients pay exactly the same.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Q1How much is filler in Korea?
It depends on the area, the amount of filler, whether the product is domestic or imported, and the number of sessions, so HERA gives an itemised written estimate after a doctor has assessed your face. International and local patients pay exactly the same.Q2Why is imported filler more expensive than Korean filler?
Imported filler usually costs more and usually lasts longer: at HERA, domestic fillers generally last around 6–12 months and imported ones around 12–18 months. Comparing cost over time is fairer than comparing cost on the day.Q3Do foreigners pay more for filler at HERA?
No. International and local patients pay exactly the same, and every patient receives an itemised written estimate before treatment begins.Q4Can I get a filler quote before travelling to Korea?
Yes. Send a front photograph and a side profile for a photo consultation, and the doctor can tell you which areas, which type of product and how many sessions are suggested before you book a flight.Q5Is cheap filler in Korea unsafe?
A lower price is not unsafe in itself; an unnamed product, an unclear amount or a non-physician injector is the real risk. Ask for the product, the amount and the injector in writing before treatment.
