Are dr Korea pdrn reviews describing the same thing you would get injected in Seoul?
It is worth reading on before you book anything or buy a product on the strength of one review.
After this post you will know what the reviews usually mean, what decides cost, which methods exist and how recovery goes, so you can decide whether a booster suits your skin.
Hello, I'm Dr. Kim Jong Seon, Director, Gangnam HERA Plastic Surgery Clinic.
At HERA, the specialist who consults with you is the one who performs your treatment, and the sealed vial is opened in front of you. An English interpreter is on site at every visit, which helps when you want to ask about PN versus PDRN.
Many people write to me because a serum review and an injection review sit side by side under the same product name, so they look like one treatment.
In short, a PDRN serum or cream from a pharmacy is not a doctor-injected DNA-based booster, and a review can't tell you which one suits your skin.

What are most PDRN reviews actually describing?
PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) is made of short DNA fragments, usually purified from salmon or trout, and it was first studied for wound healing (Pharmaceuticals, MDPI). PN (polynucleotide) comes from the same kind of source but is made of longer chains, which is why dermatology papers compare the two side by side (Pharmaceutics, MDPI). The Rejuran on my menu is PN made from purified salmon DNA. It comes in three versions: Rejuran, Rejuran HB and Rejuran I.
Whether you read about a cream or an injection matters more than the label. In general, the skin barrier keeps out molecules much larger than about 500 daltons (Bos & Meinardi, Experimental Dermatology), and DNA fragments are far larger than that. So when a review of a PDRN serum praises softer, more hydrated skin, the formula as a whole is most likely doing that on the surface. An injection puts the material into the dermis, where a serum is unlikely to reach.
Even a review of an injection leaves out what you need to know: which product was used, how deep it went, how many sessions there were and what the skin looked like to begin with. If you want the research itself, start with the systematic review of polynucleotides in esthetic medicine published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology. It's a better starting point than any comment thread.
Is a skin booster the right tool for what bothers you?
A PN booster is aimed at skin quality. That means dryness a moisturizer doesn't fix, dull or rough texture, fine lines and thin skin that creases easily. If a search for the best PDRN in Korea for dry skin brought you here, dryness is one of the main things these injections are used for.
A booster won't lift. If what bothers you is a jawline that has dropped, or folds that deepen when you look down, more product won't move that tissue upward. That's where energy devices or threads come into the conversation. Start with how Thermage and Ultherapy differ, then read SMAS lifting with Ultherapy for the deeper layer. If your main concern is mild firmness, shrink lifting may be worth a look too.
If you want texture work plus some collagen support, my menu also has Juvelook, a PDLLA collagen-stimulating booster. Like any injected booster, it can leave small lumps in some people, so it's a choice for the consultation. My position is the same for every treatment: only what you need, and nothing added to make the plan look bigger.
Say you are 38, your skin looks dull and a little crepey under the eyes, and you have read several dr Korea pdrn reviews that praise a serum. You are flying to Seoul in three weeks and wonder whether an injection would do the same job. I would start by asking what bothers you most: texture, dryness or fine lines. I would then check whether the reviews you saved describe a cream or an injected PN product.
If the main concern is skin quality rather than sagging, a booster may be a reasonable fit, and I would explain how many sessions your dates allow. If what you notice is loose skin, I would tell you a booster is probably the wrong tool for it.
What a visit at HERA involves
Every treatment here begins with a 1:1 consultation. Consultation, AI skin diagnosis and treatment can all happen in a single visit, which suits someone with only a few days in Seoul. The AI diagnosis uses EVE V MUSE, which scans more than 40 skin indicators, so the talk about dryness or texture starts from data on your own skin.
A medical interpreter is on site and supports you in English from consultation to aftercare. The four steps from first message to aftercare are laid out on the HERA Clinic homepage.
Which five questions should you ask before anyone injects?
You can ask these at any clinic, including mine. What matters is what the answers tell you.
1. Is this PN or PDRN, and what is the exact product name?
A clear answer names a product, not a category. If the answer stays vague, ask again before you agree to anything.
2. Will I see the sealed vial opened?
I use only genuine, approved products, and the sealed vial is opened in front of you. Take a photo of the box label on your phone. If a doctor at home ever needs to know what was injected, that photo answers the question.
3. Is the doctor I'm talking to the one who injects?
At HERA, yes. I think this matters most for injections, because the person who heard what you want is the one deciding depth and placement once you're in the treatment room.
4. What are you not recommending, and why?
This answer tells you the most. A useful reply sounds like "your texture is a booster question, your jowl isn't": a reason tied to your face. Consultations here are meant to cover only what's necessary.
5. How will my skin look on the day I fly?
Ask this with your travel dates in front of you. The next section gives you the general picture.
How many days do the bumps take to settle?
PN boosters are usually injected as many small deposits just under the skin, so the first thing you'll notice is a pattern of small raised bumps. For many people they flatten within a day or so. Pinpoint bruises, if you get any, can take up to a week to fade.
| When | What's common | What to plan |
|---|---|---|
| Same day | Small bumps, redness, mild tenderness | Follow the aftercare you're given and keep the evening quiet |
| Around day 3 | Most bumps flat, any bruise turning yellow | Sightseeing and dinners out are usually fine |
| Around day 7 | Bruises usually faded | A comfortable margin before the flight home |
Before you fly
don't book the injection for the day before your flight. If you can, leave a few days so any bruise has started to settle while you're still in Seoul.
Changes in skin quality from PN tend to build gradually over weeks, and these boosters are commonly given as a series spaced a few weeks apart. If this is a single trip, plan for the first session in Seoul and ask how a later session could fit your next visit.
Who should wait, and what if something feels off at home?
Risks and side effects to know
The common reactions are temporary: bumps at the injection points, redness, tenderness, swelling and small bruises. These usually settle over a few days to a week. Less common problems are a lump that lasts longer, or an infection at an injection point. An infection shows up as pain, heat or pus that gets worse instead of better.
As general medical guidance, it's wiser to wait or skip PN injections if you have:
- an active breakout, cold sore or skin infection in the area
- a laser treatment or chemical peel on the same area in the past few weeks
- taken isotretinoin in the past several months
- a pregnancy, or you're breastfeeding
- a known allergy to fish, salmon-derived ingredients or any component of the product
If a reaction appears after you've flown home, see a local doctor promptly and show them your photo of the box label. Before you travel, the CDC's medical tourism guidance suggests keeping copies of your records and arranging follow-up care at home. Skin responds differently from person to person, and whether PN suits you is decided at the in-person consultation.
What decides the cost of a PDRN or Rejuran booster?
The main factors are the product and method used, since a serum, a PN booster and a PDRN injection are different treatments. The area treated matters too, as does the amount needed to cover it. The number of sessions changes the total, because boosters are often planned as a series rather than a single visit. If you are visiting from abroad, the number of days you can stay shapes how the sessions are spaced, and so does the follow-up you want.
To get the figure for your own case, send a daylight photo of the area on WhatsApp and ask what your plan would involve.
Visiting HERA in Gangnam
HERA is at 4F, 9 Seocho-daero 73-gil, Seocho-gu, Seoul, three minutes from Gangnam Station. We're open Monday and Friday 10:00β20:00, Tuesday to Thursday 10:00β19:00 and Saturday 10:00β17:00, with a lunch break from 13:00 to 14:00. We're closed on Sundays and public holidays, so if you land on a Saturday evening, Monday is the next day we're open. The clinic is registered with Korea's Ministry of Health and Welfare as a Foreign Patient Attraction Medical Institution.
I'm Dr. Kim Jong Seon, director of the clinic and a board member of the International Petit Medical Society. Injectables like PN boosters are the part of my work this post is about.
Send your arrival and flight dates on WhatsApp with one daylight photo of the area that bothers you, and ask whether one Rejuran session fits between your arrival and your flight home. One photo is enough, and you can ask before booking anything. When you come, I examine your skin and recommend what fits it.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Q1Are PDRN creams from a Korean pharmacy the same as PDRN injections?
No. A cream stays mostly on the surface, because the skin barrier generally keeps out molecules as large as DNA fragments. An injection places the material in the dermis. Reviews of the two describe different experiences.Q2Is Rejuran PDRN?
Rejuran is PN (polynucleotide) made from purified salmon DNA. It belongs to the same family as PDRN but uses longer chains. HERA offers Rejuran, Rejuran HB and Rejuran I.Q3Does a PN booster injection hurt?
Most people feel many quick pinches and some stinging as the product goes in. How much it bothers you is personal, so mention it at the consultation if you're nervous about needles.Q4How many sessions will I need?
PN boosters are commonly given as a series a few weeks apart, because skin quality changes build gradually. The number for your skin is set at the in-person consultation, so plan your first trip around one session.Q5Can I combine a skin booster with a lifting treatment on the same trip?
Many people ask about this, since boosters work on skin quality and lifting devices work on laxity. Whether to combine them, and in what order, is a question for the consultation once your skin has been assessed.
