Exosome Korean Treatment: Worth It? Price, Reviews, Methods

Thinking about an exosome Korean treatment but not sure the vial does anything the needles don't?
Read this before you set aside a morning of your Seoul trip for it.
My short answer: it is worth considering for shallow scars or enlarged pores if your trip is long enough for follow-up, and probably not for active acne, deep scars or a one-day stopover.
By the end you'll know what decides the price, what reviews get right and wrong, and which methods exist, so you can tell whether it fits your skin, your trip and your budget.
Hello, I'm Dr. Kim Jong Seon, Director of Gangnam HERA Plastic Surgery Clinic and a board member of the International Petit Medical Society.
At HERA you pay the same price as Korean patients, you get a written estimate before treatment, and an English interpreter sits with you through the consultation. We're 3 minutes from Gangnam Station.
I wrote this because many people book an exosome session expecting the vial to do most of the work, when in a combined treatment the needling matters at least as much.
Here, exosome means one treatment: Potenza Exosome, which pairs Jeisys' Potenza RF microneedling with an ASCE+ exosome skin booster for pores, scars and redness. It can suit textured skin with enlarged pores or shallow acne scars. It is not something I offer for hair. If dryness or tone is your main worry, Rejuran or Juvelook may be the better question to ask about.

Send us your question or a photo on WhatsApp and we will reply in English.
If pores or scars are why you're reading, send one daylight photo of your cheeks on WhatsApp and ask whether Potenza Exosome fits them. I may tell you to wait, or advise against adding the booster. That way you're asking about your own skin, not a menu in general.

What is an exosome, and what does it do on skin?
Exosomes are tiny packets that cells release to send signals to other cells. They carry proteins and genetic messages, but they are not cells themselves. An exosome booster is not a stem cell injection, whatever a product label or forum post suggests.
In skincare, the idea is that these signals may support the skin's own repair after a controlled injury, such as the micro-channels microneedling makes. The evidence is still early. The US Food and Drug Administration states that there are currently no FDA-approved exosome products, and that exosome products intended to treat diseases or conditions need its approval. So I talk about exosomes as a booster that may help recovery and texture, never as a treatment for a disease.
In Potenza Exosome, the RF microneedling does the structural work. Fine needles deliver radiofrequency energy into the dermis, and the skin's healing response gradually remodels collagen over the following weeks. The exosome booster is added so it can travel deeper through those channels. The American Academy of Dermatology describes microneedling as a treatment that can help fade some scars, which is why I judge this treatment first by the needling plan and second by the vial.
Who it suits, who it doesn't, and the alternatives
The skin I would consider for Potenza Exosome usually looks like this: enlarged pores and rough texture across the cheeks, shallow rolling acne scars, or redness that lingers after acne has settled. These are the concerns the treatment is designed around.
It is a poor fit for active, inflamed acne, where needling through infected skin can spread the problem. Deep icepick or tethered scars often need other methods before needling helps much (our acne scar guide goes through them). If your main concern is sagging along the jaw, that is a lifting question, not a booster question. And if you're searching for Korean exosomes for hair, I don't offer an exosome hair or scalp treatment, so this page can't help you there.
If the goal is elasticity or hydration more than texture, two other boosters on my menu may fit better. Rejuran uses polynucleotides from purified salmon DNA, so a fish allergy is a reason to skip it. Juvelook is a PDLLA collagen stimulator for texture, pores and firmness; collagen stimulators can occasionally leave small bumps, which is one reason the injection plan matters.
Say you're 34, with enlarged pores on both cheeks and a few shallow scars from your early twenties, and you have five days in Seoul. I would look at whether the scars are shallow enough for needling to soften, plan the session on your first or second day, and tell you plainly that scars usually respond to a series of sessions spaced weeks apart. If you won't be back in Seoul, one session can still improve texture, but you'd want a dermatologist at home for the rest of the series.
Which methods exist for exosome treatment in Korea?
Exosome treatment in Korea shows up in a few forms, and they are not interchangeable. The difference is how far the product gets into the skin.
| Method | How it reaches the skin | At HERA |
|---|---|---|
| After RF microneedling | Through needle channels into the dermis | Yes, as Potenza Exosome |
| After laser or plain microneedling | Through channels the device creates | Not on my menu |
| Home serums and ampoules | Sit on intact skin, which blocks most large molecules | Skincare, not a treatment |
| Scalp application for hair | Varies by clinic; evidence is early | Not offered |
If you've been reading about microneedling with exosomes, that combined method is the one I use. The serum aisle in a Seoul pharmacy sells something different: products for intact skin that may feel pleasant but don't go where the needling sends a booster.
What decides the price of exosome treatment?
People search for an ASCE+ exosome price, but on my menu ASCE+ is part of Potenza Exosome, so the useful question is what that treatment would cost for your face. Four things move it:
- The area: full face, or cheeks and scarred zones only.
- The number of sessions: texture may improve after one, while scars usually need a series.
- Whether you combine it with another treatment on the same visit.
- Your days in Seoul, which decide how many sessions fit into one trip at the right spacing.
The price is the same for foreign and Korean patients, and you get a written estimate before anything is done. Ask what the estimate includes, such as numbing cream and the booster itself, so you can compare it line by line. To get the figure for your case, ask on WhatsApp with a photo of the area you want treated.
What do reviews of Korean exosome treatments get right?
Review threads usually make four claims. Here is how each holds up medically, in general terms.
- "Redness settles faster with exosomes." Possibly. The idea makes biological sense, and some people notice less redness, but studies are small and early.
- "It's stem cell therapy." No. Exosomes are released by cells; they are not cells.
- "One session fixed my scars." Unlikely. Collagen remodeling takes weeks, and scars usually need a series.
- "A Korean exosome serum at home works the same." No. Intact skin keeps most large molecules out; the needle channels are the point of the clinic version.
As for which Korean exosome brand to buy, I can't rank them for you. What I'd check is whether the product is genuine and sealed, and whether the needling plan fits your skin.
Genuine products and one specialist: what you can check
I use only genuine, sealed products, and the vial is opened in front of you. You can ask to see it before anything goes on your skin.
At HERA the specialist who consults with you is the one who performs your treatment; it isn't handed off. We don't rush through high volumes, and our directors attend academic conferences at home and abroad.
The EVE V MUSE system builds a 3D map of your face, which gives you and me the same picture of where the texture and asymmetry are. An English interpreter joins the consultation, so you can ask about what you see on it.
Recovery: same day, day 3, day 7, and your flight
The timeline below is general for RF microneedling. Your skin may move faster or slower.
| When | What's typical | Plan around it |
|---|---|---|
| Same day | Redness, warmth, pinpoint marks | Skip makeup, gym and sauna |
| Day 3 | Redness fading, some dryness or flaking | Gentle cleanser, sunscreen |
| Day 7 | Skin looks close to usual | Collagen change continues for weeks |
Before you fly
avoid booking the treatment the day before your flight. Put it early in your trip so the first redness and dryness pass while you're still in Seoul.
Risks and side effects to know
Common temporary reactions are redness, mild swelling, tenderness, pinpoint bleeding marks and dryness, usually settling within a few days. Less often, people get breakouts, infection or a grid pattern of marks. Darker patches can follow any skin injury, a reaction called postinflammatory hyperpigmentation, and it is more likely in deeper skin tones.
In general medicine, you should wait or skip this treatment if you have active acne or a cold sore in the area, a recent laser or peel, isotretinoin within the past months, pregnancy or breastfeeding, a tendency to keloid scars, or an allergy to an ingredient in the booster. Tell your doctor about any implanted electronic device before radiofrequency treatment.
If something feels wrong after you fly home, such as spreading redness, pain or pus, see a dermatologist or your doctor promptly and bring photos from each day. The US CDC's medical tourism guidance suggests arranging follow-up care at home before you travel, which is worth doing even for a non-surgical treatment. Results differ from person to person, and the final plan is made at the face-to-face consultation.

If your flight date is fixed, send it on WhatsApp with a side-lit photo of the area that bothers you most, and ask which day of your trip leaves enough room for redness to settle.

We're closed on Sundays and public holidays, so if you land on a Saturday evening, plan your visit for Monday.
An English interpreter is with you through the consultation, and HERA is registered with Korea's Ministry of Health and Welfare as a foreign patient attraction medical institution. You can read more about my background on the doctor page.
For an exosome Korean session, one daylight photo of your skin and your travel dates on WhatsApp are enough to start. Ask what the written estimate includes before booking anything. When you come in, I'll examine your skin and tell you plainly if I would advise against adding the booster, or if waiting is the better choice.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Q1Do you offer exosome treatment for hair loss at HERA?
No. My exosome treatment is Potenza Exosome for the face: pores, scars and redness. Evidence for exosomes in hair loss is still early, and hair loss should first be examined by a dermatologist to find its cause.Q2Is ASCE+ an FDA-approved product?
The US FDA states that there are currently no FDA-approved exosome products. I use ASCE+ as a skin booster after RF microneedling, not as a treatment for a disease, and the sealed vial is opened in front of you.Q3How many sessions will I need?
Texture may improve after one session. Acne scars usually need a series spaced several weeks apart, so on a single trip most people fit in one session and continue at home or on a later visit.Q4Does RF microneedling with exosomes hurt?
Most people describe a prickling, warm feeling during the passes, and tenderness like a mild sunburn for a day or so afterward. Ask at the consultation how comfort is handled for you.Q5Can I use a Korean exosome serum at home instead?
You can use one as skincare, but it sits on intact skin, which keeps most large molecules out. That is different from a booster delivered through needle channels in a clinic.
