Temple Filler Cost in Korea: Hollow Depth, Design and What You Pay For

I'm Dr. Kim Jong Seon, the filler specialist at Gangnam HERA in Seoul and a board member of the International Petit Medical Society. The temples are the area patients most often do not know they need β and, once they do, the one they are most unsure how to budget for. The message usually reads: "How much is temple filler in Korea? Is it one of those areas that keeps needing more?" My answer first: temple filler cost depends on how deep the hollow is, whether the temples are planned on their own or as part of the upper-face curve with the forehead, and how carefully the area has to be approached. It is not an area I fill to the maximum, and treating it well can reduce what other areas of the face need. You receive an itemised written estimate after consultation, and international and local patients pay exactly the same.
Why won't I quote a temple filler price before seeing you?
Because the same word, "hollow", covers anything from a slight dip to a deep concavity, and the amount and plan change with it. Two people can send me almost identical messages and need very different treatments. One has a gentle dip that only shows in overhead light. Another has hollowing from weight loss or ageing that narrows the whole upper face and makes the cheekbones stand out by contrast.
A price list cannot see that difference. It also cannot see whether your concern is really the temple at all. Patients often point at their cheeks or under-eyes and say they look tired; when I show them the hollow above the cheekbone in a mirror held at an angle, the plan changes. Our temple filler guide explains why that hollow is so often missed.

How does the depth of the hollow change the plan?
A slight dip may need only a small amount per side; a deep hollow is better restored gradually, over a first session and a review. I judge three things at consultation:
- Depth: how far the temple sits below the line between the brow and the hairline.
- Extent: whether the hollow is a small pocket or runs from the brow towards the hairline and down to the cheekbone.
- Symmetry: one temple is often a little deeper than the other, and each side is planned on its own.
For a deep hollow, I plan a conservative first session and review the outline once any swelling has settled, rather than correcting everything at once. Anything added at the review is agreed then and written as a separate line, so the total follows what your face actually needed rather than an estimate made in advance. Over-filled temples look wide rather than rested, and that is the error I most want to avoid.
Why are temples and forehead often estimated together?
Because the upper face is read as one curve, and treating the temples and forehead as a single design often looks more natural than treating either alone. At HERA, forehead and temples are planned as the upper part of a continuous line that runs on through the cheeks to the jaw β the approach described on our C-line lifting filler page.
That does not mean everyone needs both. If your forehead is already rounded, the temples may be the only zone on the estimate. If the forehead is flat as well, the two are listed as separate lines within one design, so you can see what each part costs and decide. The forehead filler cost guide explains how that side is estimated, and the forehead filler guide covers who it suits.
Can treating the temples lower the total?
Often, yes β restoring the temple frequently reduces how much the cheeks need. When the temples hollow, the outline narrows there and the cheekbones look more prominent by contrast. Patients then ask for cheek filler to "balance" the face, when the real gap is above. I have had patients arrive expecting substantial cheek work who left with much less placed there, because once the temples were restored the outline no longer asked for it.
So when you compare a quote that lists temples with one that lists only cheeks, the one with more lines is not necessarily the more expensive plan, and it is often the more natural one. The cheek filler cost guide explains how cheek zones are estimated if they are still needed.

Why does technique matter more than the product line here?
The temple has important anatomy close to where filler is placed, so who injects, at what depth and how slowly matters more than which brand is on the syringe. At HERA the doctor who assesses your face also designs the plan, marks the points and performs the injection, using topical ointment or local anaesthesia. Most single-area sessions take around 10 to 15 minutes of treatment time, a little longer when several areas are combined.
When you compare quotes, it is worth asking a few questions that do not appear in a price:
- Is the injection performed by a doctor?
- How much is planned for each side, and why that amount?
- Has the clinic assessed whether the forehead or cheeks are part of the picture?
- Is there a review if one side needs a small adjustment?
Pain that keeps getting worse, skin that turns pale, dusky or mottled, or any change in vision after filler is not expected and needs a doctor the same day. These events are uncommon, and they are the reason this area belongs with a physician.
How do product and timing affect what you spend over a year?
The product is its own line on the estimate, and the real difference between domestic and imported is how often you will need to maintain the result. At HERA, domestic hyaluronic-acid fillers typically last around 6 to 12 months and imported ones around 12 to 18 months, varying with the area and your metabolism. Both can be dissolved if an adjustment is ever needed.
Timing affects the budget too. Mild swelling, redness or a small bruise can appear and usually settles within two to three days, and bruising is the thing most likely to interfere with travel plans. Tell us your flight dates; booking early in your stay leaves room for the review without a second trip, which is the cheapest way to get the outline right.
What else do patients ask about temple filler cost?
They usually ask whether the face will look wider, what realistic results look like, and whether temples are cheaper per area.
"Will temple filler make my face look wider?"
Done to the right amount, it looks rested rather than wider. Width comes from over-placement, which is why I plan less than patients often expect and review.
"Can I see what realistic results look like?"
Yes. The temple filler before-and-after guide explains what changes and what does not, and our before-and-after gallery includes temple cases from HERA patients.
"Is temple filler cheaper per area than other places?"
I do not price it that way. The estimate follows the amount, product and design for your face, and our Korean filler price guide explains how multi-area plans are put together.

What can temple filler not do, whatever you spend?
Temple filler restores a hollow; it does not lift a sagging jawline, tighten skin or change bone. It is maintained rather than permanent, and past a certain point more volume stops reading as rested and starts reading as done. Results vary from person to person. What I can offer is an honest reading of whether the temples are really the cause, a design that includes the forehead or cheeks only when your face needs them, and a measured first session with a review. The clinical detail is on our facial filler page, and the first-timer's guide to fillers in Korea explains how a visit runs.
Book a consultation
If you would like a temple plan and a written estimate, send a photograph from the front and one from a three-quarter angle, ideally in light from above. We will arrange a consultation in Gangnam, or a photo consultation first if you are still abroad. An English interpreter joins every visit, and you receive an itemised written estimate before anything begins β international and local patients pay exactly the same.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Q1How much is temple filler in Korea?
It depends on your plan, so HERA gives an itemised written estimate after consultation rather than one online price. The cost changes with the depth and extent of the hollow, whether the forehead is part of the design, domestic or imported product, and whether a review step is needed.Q2Can temple filler reduce how much cheek filler I need?
Often, yes. Restoring hollow temples softens the contrast that makes the cheekbones stand out, so the cheeks frequently need less volume β or none.Q3Why are temples and forehead sometimes estimated together?
Because the upper face is read as one curve, and a single design often looks more natural. Each area is still listed as its own line, so you can decide on each.Q4Do foreigners pay more for temple filler at HERA?
No. International and local patients pay exactly the same, and every item is agreed in writing before treatment begins.Q5How long does temple filler last?
At HERA, domestic hyaluronic-acid fillers typically last around 6β12 months and imported ones 12β18 months, varying with the area and individual metabolism.
