Underarm Botox Korea Price: What Decides What You Pay

On this page
I'm Dr. Jong Seon Kim, a plastic surgeon at Gangnam HERA in Seoul and a board member of the International Petit Medical Society, and most of my clinical day is spent on fillers and injectables. Patients planning underarm botox tend to ask about price and season in the same breath: "What is the underarm botox price in Korea — and will one session get me through the summer, or am I paying for this several times a year?" I won't print a number here, and I would rather tell you why than hide it. What you pay depends on how large your sweating area is, how much toxin it needs, which product is used and how many times a year you choose to repeat it. A figure without those answers would not be your figure. What I can promise is that after a consultation you receive an itemised written estimate before anything begins, and that international and local patients pay exactly the same.
Why don't I publish an underarm botox price?
Because the sweating area is mapped on each person, and the amount of toxin follows that map — so a fixed number would be too high for some people and too low for others. Two people who both say "underarm botox" can have very different areas that sweat. I mark the area that actually sweats and spread the toxin across it, and that decides the dose.
A second reason is that advertised prices are rarely like for like. A low figure might be for a smaller amount, or for a different product, or might leave out the review. I would rather you hold an estimate that names the product and the area than a number that looks good in a search result and changes in the room.

What decides the cost of underarm botox in Korea?
Four things: the size of the sweating area, the dose it needs, the product, and how many sessions you plan for in a year.
- The sweating area. It is mapped and marked at the visit. A larger area means more injection points and more toxin.
- The dose. It follows the area and how heavily it sweats, not a fixed menu amount.
- The product. We use Korean-made and imported toxins, and the brand is written on your estimate.
- How often. The effect is temporary, so most people repeat it. Budgeting for a year is more honest than budgeting for a visit.
If you also treat other areas in the same visit, each is listed as its own line. The general logic behind all our toxin pricing is in how much botox costs in Korea; here I only cover what is specific to the underarm.
Which products can be used, and does the brand change the price?
All four botulinum toxin type A products we use list underarm sweating as a treatment area, and the brand you choose is one of the lines that moves the estimate.
| Product | Made by | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Allergan Botox | Allergan (now part of AbbVie) | The original brand, with the longest clinical record |
| Xeomin | Merz, Germany | Complexing-protein-free |
| Coretox | Medytox, Korea | Complexing-protein-free, made without human serum albumin |
| Newlux | Newmeco (a Medytox affiliate), Korea | Positioned as a value Korean option |
The Korean-made products are generally the more accessible line. All four work by the same mechanism. For someone who expects to repeat underarm treatment every year, it is worth knowing that complexing-protein-free products such as Xeomin and Coretox are associated with a lower theoretical risk of the body developing resistance over time. I compare the four fairly in Korean botox vs American botox.
How many sessions should you budget for in a year?
Most people notice less sweating within 3~7 days, reach the full effect at around two weeks, and find the toxins we use generally last about 3~4 months — so plan for repeat sessions rather than one. How long it holds in the underarm varies with the dose, the product and your own body. Results vary from person to person.
Many patients do not need year-round coverage. They time a session before the hottest months, before a wedding, a new job or a long trip, and let it wear off in the cooler season. That is a perfectly reasonable way to manage cost. Others with heavy sweating all year prefer to keep it up. Neither is wrong; the point is to decide in advance, so the estimate reflects the year you actually want.
If you are travelling to Seoul for it, book early in your stay. The effect starts within days, and you can mention anything unusual while you are still nearby.

What should be on your underarm botox estimate?
The consultation, the mapped area, the product by name, the injection and aftercare — and whether a review visit is included. The treatment itself usually takes about 5~10 minutes: the area is cleansed and marked, the toxin is placed with a very fine needle in small amounts across the marked area, and the skin is cooled afterwards.
Read the estimate before you agree. If a review is part of your plan, it should be written there. If it is not, ask. Aftercare is simple — for a few hours, avoid rubbing the area, lying down and heat such as saunas, hot baths or hard exercise — but it should be explained to you, in English, before you leave. Tiny needle marks or slight redness can appear briefly. If you want to know what is normal afterwards and what is not, I explain it in Korean botox side effects.
How should you compare underarm botox prices between clinics?
Compare the same product and the same approach to the area — and make sure the treatment is the right one before you compare at all.
- Ask for the product name. Imported or Korean-made, and which brand.
- Ask how the area is decided. Is the sweating area mapped on you, or is it a fixed amount?
- Ask what is included. Consultation, marking, cooling, aftercare, any review.
- Ask who injects. Even placement across the area is what makes the result even.
The cheapest option is not always toxin. Sweating that started suddenly, sweating all over the body, heavy night sweats, or sweating that began with a new medication can have an underlying cause, and should be checked by a physician first. I set out who this treatment is for, and when to see a different doctor, in hyperhidrosis treatment in South Korea. If you are comparing clinics rather than prices, choosing a clinic for hyperhidrosis botox in Korea covers that question.
What patients ask me next
"Will my insurance at home cover it?"
I can't answer for your insurer. What I can give you is an itemised written estimate before treatment, so you can ask them with the details in hand.
"Can I combine it with other botox on the same trip?"
Yes. Many patients pair the underarm with jaw slimming — what drives that cost is in how much masseter botox costs in Korea. Some add skin botox for pores and texture; see skin botox cost in Korea and Korean skin botox before and after. Each area is listed separately on the estimate.
"Is it the same treatment as cosmetic botox?"
Same toxins, different target: the aim is less sweat, not smoother lines. Our guide to botox from Korea covers the cosmetic uses.

The honest limits
Underarm botox manages sweating; it does not cure it, and the effect is temporary, so its true cost is a rhythm of sessions rather than a single visit. It treats the area injected, not the whole body, and the underarm is the sweating area on our treatment list. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for people with neuromuscular disorders. What I can offer is an honest assessment, a careful treatment mapped to your own sweating area, and an itemised written estimate before anything begins.
Book a consultation
If you would like a real underarm botox estimate, tell us when the sweating bothers you most and whether you want year-round or seasonal coverage. We will arrange a consultation in Gangnam, or a photo consultation first if you are still abroad. An English interpreter joins every visit, and you receive an itemised written estimate before anything begins — international and local patients pay exactly the same.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Q1What is the underarm botox price in Korea?
It depends on the size of your sweating area, the dose it needs, the product used and how many sessions you plan a year, so HERA gives an itemised written estimate after consultation rather than a headline number. International and local patients pay exactly the same.Q2Which products can be used for underarm botox at HERA?
All four toxins HERA uses — Allergan Botox, Xeomin, Coretox and Newlux — list underarm sweating as a treatment area. The Korean-made products are generally the more accessible line, and the brand is written on your estimate.Q3How long does underarm botox last?
The toxins HERA uses generally last about 3~4 months, with less sweating noticed within 3~7 days and the full effect at around two weeks. How long it holds varies with dose, product and the individual.Q4How many underarm botox sessions do I need a year?
That depends on whether you want year-round or seasonal control; many people time one session before the hottest months. Because the effect is temporary, budget for repeat sessions rather than one.Q5How long does an underarm botox appointment take?
The treatment itself usually takes about 5~10 minutes after the sweating area is cleansed and marked. Most people return to their day straight away, avoiding rubbing, lying down and heat for a few hours.
