Skin Botox Cost in Korea: What Decides What You Pay

On this page
I'm Dr. Jong Seon Kim, a plastic surgeon at Gangnam HERA in Seoul and a board member of the International Petit Medical Society, and most of my clinical day is spent on fillers and injectables. Skin botox questions from abroad usually arrive with a budget already in mind: "How much does skin botox cost in Korea — and if I have to come back every few months, is it actually worth paying for?" I will answer the second half honestly, but I won't put a number on this page, and I want to explain why first. Skin botox is priced by how much of the face and neck you treat, which product is used, how often you maintain it and what you combine it with. A "full face" figure from one clinic and another can cover different zones, so a headline number tells you very little. What I can promise is that after a consultation you receive an itemised written estimate before anything begins, and that international and local patients pay exactly the same.
Why isn't there a skin botox price on this page?
Because skin botox is not one fixed product in one fixed spot — it is a diluted toxin spread across zones that differ from person to person, so any single figure would be wrong for most readers. Muscle botox is placed into a specific muscle, such as the frown lines or the jaw. Skin botox, sometimes called micro-botox, is placed shallowly in the superficial dermis across a wider surface to refine pores, texture and firmness. How wide that surface is depends on your skin, not on a menu.
There is also a comparison problem. "Skin botox" on one price list may mean the cheeks only; on another it may include the forehead and neck. If I printed a number, you would compare it with a figure that covers a different area. I would rather you compare two itemised estimates that list the same zones.

What decides the cost of skin botox in Korea?
Four things: the zones treated, the product, how often you maintain it, and whether you combine it with anything else.
- Zones. At HERA skin botox can be placed across the full face, along the jawline and lower face, around the eyes, on the forehead, or on the neck and neckline. One zone and the whole face plus neck are different line items.
- Product. The toxin used is named on your estimate. Korean-made and imported products are priced differently, and the brand you choose is one of the things that moves the total. If you want to understand what actually differs, I compare them in Korean botox vs American botox.
- Maintenance. Results typically last around three months, and many people choose a session roughly every 2~3 months. A year of skin botox is several visits, not one.
- Combination. Many patients add muscle botox for the jaw or frown lines in the same visit. Each is listed separately, so you can see what you are paying for.
The general pricing logic for all our toxin treatments is in how much botox costs in Korea; here I only cover what is specific to skin botox.
What is included in a skin botox session at HERA?
A doctor's assessment, cleansing, numbing cream, the injections, a soothing step and written aftercare — all of it on the estimate you see first. The session takes about 20~30 minutes.
- Consultation: a specialist looks at your pores, texture, elasticity and redness, and agrees the zones with you.
- Cleansing: makeup and impurities are removed from the treatment area.
- Topical anaesthesia: numbing cream is applied for comfort.
- Injection: the diluted toxin is placed evenly into the superficial dermis across the agreed zones with very fine needles.
- Soothing: a calming, cooling step to settle redness.
- Aftercare guidance: written instructions, with a follow-up rhythm generally suggested every 2~3 months.
Downtime is minimal. Mild redness or tiny marks may appear and usually settle within a day. For 1~2 days, avoid vigorous exercise, saunas, hot baths and alcohol to reduce swelling and bruising. Skin botox is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for anyone with a known sensitivity to botulinum toxin.
How often will you pay for skin botox in a year?
Plan for maintenance rather than a single session: results typically last around three months, and most people who like the result return roughly every 2~3 months. That is the honest way to think about the cost — not the price of one visit, but what a year looks like if you keep it up.
I usually suggest treating the first session as a test. Take a photograph before, in daylight and without makeup, and compare it with one taken a few weeks later in the same light. If the change in pores and texture is worth it to you, plan the next session. If it is not, you have spent one visit, not a year. Results vary from person to person, and some skin responds more visibly than others. What a realistic change looks like is set out in Korean skin botox before and after.
If you live abroad and visit Seoul a few times a year, it often makes more sense to time sessions around your trips than to chase an exact interval.

Is skin botox the right place to spend for your concern?
It is good value when your concern is the surface — pores, rough texture, fine lines, redness, a subtle lack of firmness — and poor value for anything deeper. It is designed to refine skin quality without changing how your face moves.
Where it earns its cost
- Enlarged pores, especially across the cheeks
- Rough or uneven texture and dull tone
- Fine surface wrinkles and creases
- Surface redness and flushing
- A wish for a light, lifted firmness without surgery
Where your money is better spent elsewhere
Deep folds, lost volume and heavy sagging will not change with skin botox; those belong with filler or lifting, and paying for skin botox to fix them is money wasted. If your goal is overall skin regeneration rather than pores and texture, a skin booster may be the better line on your estimate — what drives those costs is set out in Rejuran price in Korea and Juvelook cost in Korea. I would rather tell you this in the consultation than sell you the wrong treatment.
How should you compare skin botox quotes between clinics?
Compare the same zones, the same product and the same technique — and ask what the figure includes. A lower number for fewer zones, or for a different product, is not a saving; it is a different treatment.
- Ask which zones are covered. "Full face" should be written out — does it include the forehead, around the eyes, the jawline, the neck?
- Ask for the product name. Korean-made or imported, and which brand.
- Ask what is included. Numbing cream, the soothing step and the aftercare guidance should be on the estimate, not surprises.
- Ask who injects and how. Even, shallow placement across the zones is what makes skin botox work; it is a technique, not just a product.
- Ask about the maintenance plan. A clinic that tells you how often you will realistically return is giving you the real cost.

What patients ask me next
"Can I combine skin botox with jaw botox to save a visit?"
Yes, and many people do — skin botox for texture, jaw botox for shape. Each is listed separately on the estimate. What drives the jaw side is set out in how much masseter botox costs in Korea. Some patients also treat underarm sweating on the same trip; underarm botox price in Korea and hyperhidrosis treatment in South Korea cover that.
"Will a cheaper skin botox look frozen?"
It shouldn't, whatever the product. The dose is highly diluted and placed in the skin rather than the muscle, so expression is preserved. If you want to know what can go wrong and what is normal afterwards, I explain it in Korean botox side effects.
"Can I get a quote before I fly?"
A provisional one, yes. Send a close-up photo of your skin in daylight without makeup, and tell us which zones bother you most. The final estimate follows the in-person assessment.

The honest limits
Skin botox refines the surface. It does not lift heavy tissue, fill hollows or erase deep wrinkles, and it lasts around three months rather than indefinitely — so its real cost is a maintenance rhythm, not a single visit. The change is real but modest, and some skin responds more than others. What I can promise is an honest view of whether your concern is the kind skin botox improves, a clear list of zones and product, and an itemised written estimate before anything begins.
Book a consultation
If you would like a real skin botox estimate for your own skin, send us a close-up photo in daylight without makeup and the zones you want to treat. We will arrange a consultation in Gangnam, or a photo consultation first if you are still abroad. An English interpreter joins every visit, and you receive an itemised written estimate before anything begins — international and local patients pay exactly the same.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Q1How much does skin botox cost in Korea?
It depends on the zones treated, the product used, how often you maintain it and whether you combine it with other treatments, so HERA gives an itemised written estimate after consultation rather than a headline number. International and local patients pay exactly the same.Q2Which areas can skin botox treat?
At HERA skin botox can be placed across the full face, along the jawline and lower face, around the eyes, on the forehead, or on the neck and neckline. Each zone is listed on the estimate.Q3How often do I need skin botox?
Results typically last around three months, so many people choose maintenance sessions roughly every 2~3 months. Results vary from person to person.Q4What is included in a skin botox session?
A doctor's assessment, cleansing, numbing cream, the injections into the superficial dermis, a soothing step and aftercare guidance, all in about 20~30 minutes. Downtime is minimal, with mild redness that usually settles within a day.Q5Is skin botox worth it compared with other treatments?
It is worth it when your concern is the surface — pores, texture, fine lines and redness. Deep folds, volume loss and sagging need filler or lifting instead, and skin boosters may suit overall regeneration better.
