Eye Filler Cost in Korea: What Sets the Price for Sunken Eyes

I'm Dr. Kim Jong Seon, the filler specialist at Gangnam HERA in Seoul, and a board member of both the International Petit Medical Society and the Korean Society of Aesthetic Surgery (KSAS). Patients who feel their eyes have sunk in usually ask about money before anything else, and the question arrives in a few words: "How much is eye filler in Korea?" I will answer it honestly, which means there is no number on this page. For a hollow above the eye, the cost depends on why the eye looks sunken, how little filler the area actually needs, which product is used, and whether a review is part of the plan. You receive an itemised written estimate after consultation, before anything begins, and international and local patients pay exactly the same.
Why is there no eye filler price on this page?
Because "eye filler" covers several different treatments, and a single figure would be accurate for only one of them. Some people mean a hollow above the eye, under the brow. Others mean the tear trough below the eye. Others mean smoothing an uneven area after double-eyelid surgery. Each is planned differently and uses a different amount of product.
This page is about sunken eyes β the hollow above the eye that makes it look set back and tired. If your concern is below the eye, our under eye filler price guide covers that area, so I will not repeat it here. And if you are not sure which one you have, that is exactly what the first part of the consultation is for.

What changes the cost of filler for sunken eyes?
Four things: the cause of the hollow, the amount of filler, domestic or imported product, and whether a second stage or a review is planned.
1. Whether filler is the right tool
A HERA doctor first examines skin thickness, how deep the hollow is and what is causing it. If the eye looks sunken because volume has been lost, filler is the tool. If the real issue is loose skin or a lid that sits low, filler would be money spent on the wrong problem, and the estimate changes β or there is no filler estimate at all.
2. The amount, in millilitres
Filler is measured in millilitres (mL), and the amount is the line on the estimate that moves the most. Around the eyes it is usually smaller than people assume. The goal is a soft, rested eye, not a full one, and too much filler here looks puffy rather than refreshed.
3. Domestic or imported product
At HERA both domestic and imported hyaluronic-acid fillers are available, and the fillers we use around the eyes are high-purity, KFDA- and FDA-approved products. The main practical difference is how long they tend to last, which I explain below. The product you choose is its own line on the estimate.
4. A two-stage plan and a review
For a deeper hollow, I often prefer two smaller sessions to one large one: a conservative first stage, then a review once swelling has settled, and a small top-up only if it is needed. That can appear on the estimate as two stages, so you see from the start what each one involves.
What does an eye filler estimate at HERA include?
Every step needed to treat this area properly is written down before anything begins. A typical plan for sunken eyes covers:
- Consultation and eye analysis β skin thickness, hollow depth and the cause
- Design and marking β injection points mapped so the result stays smooth and even
- Anaesthesia β topical numbing cream, with local anaesthesia if needed
- Cannula injection β high-purity HA placed with a fine blunt-tip micro-cannula to limit bruising
- Shaping and symmetry check β the doctor confirms both sides look balanced
- Aftercare guidance β cold care and precautions explained before you leave
The treatment itself is usually completed within about 30 minutes. Anything beyond the core plan β a second area such as the under-eye, dissolving earlier filler, or a skin-quality treatment β is listed as a separate line, so you can decide on each item.

Why does technique matter more than a low quote around the eyes?
The skin around the eyes is the thinnest on the face, so the same product in the wrong depth or amount can look lumpy, uneven or slightly bluish. Correcting that usually means dissolving the filler and starting again, which costs more than doing it carefully the first time. When you compare quotes, compare what is being done:
- Is the injection performed by a doctor, and with a cannula?
- How much product is planned, and why that amount?
- Has the cause of the hollow been assessed, or is filler assumed?
- Is a review included if one side needs a small adjustment?
A lower total for less product, or for an injection without assessment, is a different treatment rather than a better deal. Mild swelling or a small bruise for a few days is expected; pain that keeps getting worse, skin turning pale or dusky, or any change in your vision is not, and you should contact the clinic the same day.
How long does it last, and how should I budget over a year?
Domestic fillers typically last 6 to 12 months and imported fillers 12 to 18 months, varying with the product and your metabolism. Results vary from person to person. That difference is the real trade-off: one is maintained more often, the other less often. Imported products usually cost more per session and may need topping up less often.
So think in terms of the year rather than the visit. If you come to Seoul once a year, a product that tends to last longer may suit your travel. If you visit often, a domestic product with more frequent, smaller top-ups can make sense. Either way, a small first session with a review usually costs less over time than a large amount placed at once and later corrected.
What do patients ask me next?
Usually whether combining areas saves money, whether nearby areas are needed, and whether a photograph is enough for an estimate.
"Is it cheaper to treat above and below the eye together?"
It means one consultation and one design, and the two areas often look more natural planned together. Whether the total suits you depends on what each area needs, which is why the estimate lists them separately.
"Do I need the temples or forehead too?"
Sometimes a hollow upper face makes the eyes look deeper than they are. If so, I will show you, but it is never added without your agreement. Our guides to temple filler cost and forehead filler cost explain how those areas are estimated.
"Can you estimate from a photograph?"
A photo consultation lets us agree the likely plan before you travel. I confirm the written estimate after examining you in person, because skin thickness and the cause of the hollow are easier to judge face to face. For filler pricing as a whole, see our Korean filler price guide.

What are the honest limits?
Filler for sunken eyes is temporary, so its real cost includes maintenance, and it only treats hollowing. It does not remove excess skin, lift a heavy lid or replace eyelid surgery, and paying for it when one of those is the real issue is money spent on the wrong problem. If you have had filler around the eyes before and it now looks puffy, the honest first step may be to dissolve it; our guide to under eye filler migration explains why that happens. Who the treatment suits is covered in dermal fillers for sunken eyes, the clinical detail is on our eye rejuvenation filler page, and the first-timer's guide to fillers in Korea explains how a visit runs.
Book a consultation
If you would like a plan and a written estimate for your eyes, send a photograph in natural light from the front and at a slight angle, with your eyes open. We will arrange a consultation in Gangnam, or a photo consultation first if you are still abroad. An English interpreter joins every visit, and you receive an itemised written estimate before anything begins β international and local patients pay exactly the same.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Q1How much is eye filler in Korea?
It depends on your plan, so HERA gives an itemised written estimate after consultation instead of one online price. For sunken eyes, the cost changes with the cause of the hollow, the amount of filler, domestic or imported product, and whether a second stage or review is planned.Q2Do foreigners pay more for eye filler at HERA?
No. International and local patients pay exactly the same, and every item is agreed in writing before treatment begins.Q3Is sunken eye filler priced the same as under-eye filler?
Not necessarily. They are different areas with different plans and amounts, so each is listed as its own line on the estimate.Q4How long does eye filler last?
Domestic hyaluronic-acid fillers typically last 6β12 months and imported ones 12β18 months, varying with the product and metabolism. Results vary from person to person.Q5When is eye filler the wrong spend?
When the eye looks sunken because of loose skin or a lid that sits low rather than lost volume. Filler does not lift a lid or remove skin, so the consultation checks the cause first.
