Before booking a flight, many patients with acne scarring write to me with the same practical question: "How much does acne scar treatment cost in Seoul? I want to know whether it's worth the trip." I will not put a number in this article, and I want to be honest about why. Acne scars are treated as a course, not a single appointment, and the cost depends on your scar type, the area, which treatments are combined and how many sessions your skin needs. Any one figure would be wrong for most readers. What I can promise is an itemised written estimate after a doctor has looked at your skin β and international and local patients pay exactly the same.
What decides the cost of acne scar treatment in Seoul?
Four things: what kind of marks you have, how large an area is treated, which treatments are combined, and how many sessions the plan needs. Everything else on the estimate follows from those.
- Scar type β depressed scarring in the texture of the skin is a different problem from red or brown marks left after breakouts, and the plans differ.
- Area β scarring confined to the cheeks is planned differently from scarring across the whole face.
- Combination β RF microneedling alone, or together with a collagen-stimulating or regenerative skin booster.
- Sessions β scarring improves over a series, and the planned series matters more than the first visit.
There is one more factor that patients rarely expect: whether your acne is still active. If it is, I usually calm the skin first, and that can change both the order and the length of the plan.
Which treatments does HERA use for acne scars?
At HERA, acne scarring is treated with Potenza Exosome, often alongside a skin booster such as Juvelook or Rejuran. These are the treatments on our menu that are designed for acne scars, and I plan with them rather than with anything we do not offer.

Why is acne scar treatment priced as a course?
Because scar improvement comes from new collagen, and new collagen takes weeks to form after each session. None of these treatments fills a scar on the day. They ask the skin to rebuild, and the skin does that on its own timetable.
With Potenza Exosome, skin often looks smoother within the first weeks, while collagen-related changes in texture build gradually after that; results are generally maintained for about 6 months to 1 year. With Juvelook, improvement appears gradually from around 3 to 4 weeks; a single session may last about 5 to 6 months, while a course of around 3 sessions can maintain results for 12 months or longer. Rejuran works across a course and is then maintained periodically.
That is why I write estimates for the course I expect your skin to need, and say how many sessions it covers. A single-session figure can look attractive and still tell you very little about what the whole plan involves. Results vary from person to person, so I review the skin at each visit rather than locking you into more sessions than your result needs.
How do scar type and area change the estimate?
Deeper, more widespread scarring usually needs more sessions and more often a combined plan; shallow, localized scarring usually needs less. This is the part of the estimate only an examination can settle.
Depressed scars or coloured marks?
Many people call red or brown post-acne marks "scars", but they are colour rather than texture. Marks and depressed scars are planned differently, and treating colour with a texture plan is a common way to spend more than necessary. Our hyperpigmentation guide covers the colour side.
Cheeks or the whole face?
Scarring concentrated on the cheeks is a smaller treatment area than scarring spread across the whole face, and the estimate reflects that.
Which booster, if any?
Some skin responds well to Potenza Exosome alone. Where depressed texture is more marked, adding Juvelook is often discussed; where the skin is thin, stressed or slow to recover, Rejuran may suit better. Each booster appears as its own line so you can see what it adds.
What is in the estimate β and what should you ask?
The consultation, each treatment in the plan, numbing and aftercare guidance, with the number of sessions stated β written and agreed before anything begins. A Potenza Exosome session, for example, includes a physician's assessment, cleansing and topical numbing, the exosome application, the RF microneedling itself, and soothing care with skincare guidance afterwards.
When you compare estimates from different clinics, ask the same questions of each:
- How many sessions is this for? One visit, or the course the doctor expects?
- Which treatments are included? Device only, or device plus a booster?
- Which area? Cheeks only, or the full face?
- Who examines the skin and sets the treatment? Depth and energy should be a doctor's decision.
- What is the product? Ask for boosters to be named and opened in front of you.

How do you plan the cost around a trip to Seoul?
Plan the course around your visits, and decide before you arrive what the first trip should achieve. Because sessions are spaced weeks apart, most international patients start a plan in Seoul and continue it on later visits. A short trip is a reasonable start, as long as nobody pretends that one session is the whole result.
- Send photos first. A photo consultation gives a realistic idea of the plan and the likely number of sessions before you book flights.
- Book early in your stay. Mild redness, warmth or swelling after Potenza usually settles within a day or two; booster injection points can show small bumps or bruising for a few days.
- Protect the skin from the sun and keep it hydrated in the days that follow.
- Agree the next step before you leave, so the spacing between sessions fits your next trip.

What patients ask me next
"Is it cheaper to do everything in one visit?"
Doing more in one day does not replace the time collagen needs between sessions. Combining a device and a booster in the same visit can make sense; compressing a course into one week usually does not.
"Will I need maintenance?"
Often, yes. Collagen-based results are maintained for a period and then supported with occasional sessions; I discuss that before you start so it is not a surprise later.
"Why combine microneedling with exosomes?"

The honest limits
Acne scar treatment improves scars; it rarely erases them, and it does not stop new acne. Deep scars soften over a course rather than disappearing, and some skin responds more than other skin. Redness, swelling, small bumps or bruising are common for a few days, and side effects such as bleeding, infection or inflammation can occur; satisfaction varies between individuals. What I can give you is an honest reading of your scars, a plan that states how many sessions it expects and why, and an estimate you see in full before you commit to anything.
